Chasity Kuehn said the tornado that hit Clark County happened in the blink of an eye.
"Seconds, probably seconds. Hear the winds and it was here and gone," said Kuehn.
She showed Newsline a patch of a corn field behind her home flattened from the storm and her garage in pieces.
"It literally passed right through here. Right through my backyard," said Kuehn.
She and her kids road out the storm in her basement, but her mother-in-law's mobile home right next door collapsed with her inside.
Kuehn said fortunately, she was able to crawl out and get help.
"She's doing okay, she just needs some rest, she's sore. Bumps and bruises but she'll be alright," said Kuehn.
Emergency officials spent the day Wednesday surveying where the tornado hit.
"They are doing the assessment trying to figure out what has been destroyed property, what is major, minor," said Clark County Emergency Management Director, Michelle Hartness.
Meanwhile, family and friends are helping the Kuehn's pick up after the storm to get life back on track.
"Got to try to get it back to normal for the kids," said Kuehn.
Officials said the majority of the homes damaged in the storm were insured.
