As Selena Gomez’s romance with Justin Bieberheats up, a sudden trip to the hospital had fans wondering what’s really going on.
When 18-year-old Selena Gomez checked into a Burbank, Calif., hospital complaining of headaches and nausea (and reportedly receiving blood pressure tests) on June 9, the rumor mill went into overdrive: Was the Disney darling living the dreams of millions of young women around the world — by carrying The Biebs’ love child?
It wasn’t much of a leap, given her symptoms and the way the teen heartthrobs have been all over each other everywhere they go — especially during their recent PDA-filled afternoon in the Hawaiian surf over Memorial Day weekend. No, it looks as if a baby Bieber will have to wait.
“I was just very malnourished,” Selena tells OK! of her mini health scare. “I was low on iron and very exhausted.” Evidently the Wizards of Waverly Place star has been subsisting on junk food and candy.
“The problem is, I don’t eat right,” Selena explains. “I love everything that’s possibly not good for me.”
Whether the Bieb falls into the “not good for me” category remains to be seen, but when a healthy-looking Selena co-hosted Canada’s MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto on June 19, the erotic spark between her and her 17-year-old sweetie was palpable — you could see it in their eyes — even though they merely shook hands when he picked up two trophies for “Somebody to Love,” his collaboration with Usher.
“Justin has told [Selena] she’s the one, and she feels the same about him,” an insider tells OK!. “Selena adores Justin and is definitely in love for the first time in her life. She’s talked about how cute their kids would be and that sort of thing.”
Uh-oh. Not to worry, says the insider. “Selena is a sensible girl,” the source says. “She and Justin are having an intimate relationship, but she’s not going to let herself get pregnant. She definitely loves kids and could see herself having Justin’s baby one day. But it’s not going to be right now. Her career is too important. Selena’s just breaking out and really starting to come into her own.”
